Airpads are necessary for gathering intelligence on your enemies and pulling off better tactics and maneuvers. They hold the maintenance crews that work on your Hornets and Vultures They have centers for training pilots in basic to complex tactics. FireBase commanders will throw their men into simulators for Hornets in times of dire need, but with the Spirit of Fire providing trained crews, this is unlikely. [1]
