The Beam Rifle is a Covenant Sniper Rifle. Its dedicated power source removes the need for reloading; however, reckless use of the weapon will cause the aforementioned power source to overheat, disabling the Beam Rifle for a minimum of 2 seconds while it cools down. Like its UNSC counterpart, the Beam Rifle is capable of depleting a player's shields with a single body shot, and delivering instant death with a headshot.
