Forge is a new feature in the Halo series, introduced in Halo 3. Forge is a way to edit the maps within the game. With Forge, you can do many different things, ranging from changing weapon spawns to building a base out of the materials given. The items your allowed to add differ from map to map. The map Foundry is known to be the best in the category of items given to Forge with. Players are able to share their map creations through their File Share or by playing the map with others. Since the maps created with Forge are really just map variants and not actual maps themselves, the map variants shared have very small file sizes, usually only taking less than a minute to download on a standard broadband connection.
