Generator Defense is an objective gametype currently in the Halo: Reach Multiplayer Beta. Also known as "Network Test 1", it's primary purpose in the Beta is to stress-test the networking system for Halo: Reach. It is currently unknown whether it will make it to the final release of the game or not.
In the Halo Reach: MP (Multiplayer Beta), it is played on the multiplayer map Overlook.
Generator Defense is similar to the gametype Invasion in that it features Spartans battling Elites. The Elites must destroy the generators, while the Spartans attempt to prevent the elites from destroying the generators. Spartans are capable of locking down the generators to prevent them from further damage by the Elites.
