The Mauler is a commonly used weapon in various online maps, both MLG and Team Slayer in particular. Similar to the Shotgun, the Mauler requires a close range shot and a melee hit or duel wielding to kill an opponent. The Mauler is a Brute weapon, based on their Pre-Covenant technology. This particular weapon was modeled off of the human shotgun. While using this weapon some players, just like when using the Shotgun, love to follow up a Shotgun blast with a Melee attack.
