The S2 AM Sniper Rifle is a gas-operated, magazine-fed weapon. Equipped with two levels of magnification, the Sniper Rifle is capable of firing 14.5mm armor-piercing rounds over long distances. Owing to its considerable stopping power, the Sniper Rifle can also be used as a back-up weapon in close-quarters. One body shot from the sniper will take down a player's shields, while a headshot will result in an instant kill and a Sniper Kill medal. The same medal can also be acquired through use of the Covenant Beam Rifle.
