|UNSC Supply Pad|
Supply Pads are an integral part of any UNSC encampment. Supplies are ferried to the pads (and subsequently, the player) by Supply Ships. All Supply Pads can be upgraded to Heavy Supply Pads. Heavy Supply Pads are simply Supply Pads that increase your resource replenishment, compared to the efficiency of a normal Supply Pad. HSP's are 40% more productive than SP's, individually.
SP's decrease in unit productivity with the more you build. With one SP producing 10 points per second, your unit SP productivity would be 10. If you expand from there to two SP's, the two SP's would produce 18.2 points per second, making the unit SP productivity 9.1. If you expand from two to five SP's, you would have an overall production rate of 36.4 points per second, with unit SP productivity being 7.28. Now while it is good to increase your amount of production, building too many SP's eventually becomes inefficient, as they will pay for themselves more slowly, with the more you build.
HSP's follow a similar trend, in that they lose unit production with the more you build, but they still give better output, and the output they give out is still relative to how many you have. In terms of efficiency, HSP's equate to SP's as follows:
|Heavy Supply Pad to Supply Pad Conversion|
|2 HSP's||Is equal to||3 SP's|
|3 HSP's||Is equal to||5 SP's|
|5 HSP's||Is equal to||9 SP's|
|7 HSP's||Is equal to||14 SP's|
As you may have noticed, it is generally most economical to start upgrading from SP's to HSP's at seven total SP's.
